Brandi Bass

Brandi’s passion for public service began at the age of 19 when her life came together and fell apart at the same time. As a survivor of a domestic violence relationship, Brandi admitted that she needed a hero growing up. So during her undergrad, Brandi started an organization titled the Helping Each other Rise Organization (HERO). Brandi became dedicated to helping all students on campus become the hero they needed growing up by utilizing self-advocacy, self-discovery and self-determination skills in order to become leaders on and off campus. By supporting students through their struggles, Brandi was inspired to continue a down a path of helping people become the best versions of themselves and bringing unity to the community.

Growing up with a speech impediment, Brandi also became an avid listener which led to her value of communication. While employed at Aetna, a CVS Health Company, Brandi developed, executed and documented the internal communications strategy for Meritain Health’s 200+ Client Management Organization. She also led the creation of Aetna’s General Management Development Program marketing video on YouTube. Brandi used her passions of listening and helping people to communicate pertinent information that is creative, concise, and customer focused.

As a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, she strives to live by their motto of “sisterhood over self.” Her ultimate goal is to take care of her family, support her friends, make a difference in the community and help all people find peace in broken pieces.

Brandi graduated from the University of Massachusetts – Dartmouth with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and with a minor in Business Administration.
