Victoria Ferrari

Before her selection Ms. Ferrari was the Senior Program Manager of GET Cities Miami, responsible for increasing access and advancement to the tech industry for marginalized people, with a focus on gender. She is responsible for developing the GET Champions program in Miami-Dade that is designed for forward-thinking tech leaders to increase and retain women, trans and nonbinary employees in their company. Victoria also is responsible for the sub-granting and supporting of a plethora of community partners.

She has been a policy changemaker in Miami-Dade since she started teaching in Wynwood with Teach for America. This experience led her to a position as a Public Policy Fellow with the Leadership for Educational Equity at the Miami-Dade County Mayor’s Office where she was able to work on equity initiatives that impact the procurement, housing and budget systems of the county. Her interest in gender equity in tech was peaked while developing the Equity and Engagement Dashboard with county project leads to ensure transparency and increased community engagement in Miami-Dade.

Victoria holds a BA from Florida Atlantic University in Policial Science with a minor in Business Law. In addition to her degree, she also holds a teaching certification and a Paralegal Studies and Legal Research certificate from the University of Miami.

In addition to her professional endeavors, she is passionate about community organizing and policy advocacy through the Miami Organizing Alliance (MOA), which she help co-found with a group of Miami educators. MOA seeks to unite educators, students and community members dedicated to challenge inequitable and unjust systems in Miami in pursuit of Educational Equity throughout community organizing. MOA wrote, advocated and passed a pilot program for a Universal Mental Health Screener in Miami-Dade that is now in its second year of implementation and is helping students secure the mental health supports they need.

As a National Urban Fellow, Victoria is keen to learn more about topics such as Corporate Social Responsibility and Philanthropy. She wants to continue social impact work as informed by the connection of nonprofit and corporate stakeholders collaborating, to disrupt financial and systematic barriers for marginalized communities.

When she is not attending community organizing events, Victoria enjoys traveling to new locations and writing letterboxed and yelp reviews of food and experiences.
