Maria Guillen

María has worked in the areas of community engagement, broadcasting, and publics relations. Specializing in nonprofit communications, María has consulted with several local and national nonprofits. Most recently, she worked at Univision 65 as the Community Empowerment Coordinator where she produced the Philadelphia content for the weekend community affairs show, Conexión Fin de Semana.

In 2015, María received her Bachelor’s Degrees in Public Relations and Communication Studies from Rowan University. After graduation, she volunteered as an English teacher in Isla Mujeres, Mexico where she taught English to 5th graders and earned her TEFL certificate. María is currently pursuing an MPM degree from Georgetown University. In the future, she wants to work on local community building initiatives and focus on urban education reform, restorative justice, and affordable housing.
